THE MYSTICAL BLUESTONES
OF STONEHENGE
The Preseli Hills are
located in Pembrokeshire, in the South West of Wales, and have the reputation
of being the source of the legends of Merlin and King Arthur.
The Welsh legends called
the 'Mabinogion' come from here as does 'Annwn', the Welsh fairyland. Legend
has it that Merlin transported stones from here to Stonehenge for the construction
of Camelot and King Arthur's Round Table. Of the seven circles that go to make
up Stonehenge, the 5th circle and inner horseshoe are constructed from stones
known as 'Bluestones' which originated in the Preseli Hills.
Whether these stones
arrived there by the movement of ice-age glacial flows, magically transferred
by Merlin or transported by man from an existing stone circle in Preseli, has
over the centuries been the subject of continuing academic discussion. Of the
45 remaining Preseli Bluestones at Stonehenge, 9 remain standing in the 5th
circle and 7 in the horseshoe. In ancient times bluestones were considered to
be holy and magical objects, homes of spirits and the Gods. It is natural therefore
that this unusual and beautiful stone should have been used in the building
of Stonehenge, this Island's greatest megalithic structure; the very root of
all our architecture.
Bluestones need to be
brought to the energy vortexes of the planet to assist in the completion of
the planetary grid system. Within the first six months of the year 2007 many
Light Workers - and Beings of the Highest Energies of Dimensional Consciousness
- will begin to meditate with their Bluestones to accelerate the vibrational
energies that will lead to them accessing their deepest Atlantean, Egyptian
and Druidic Cellular Memories. All Bluestones are individually
energised by Geoffrey Keyte, Crystal Master, Reiki Master and Crystal Reiki

According
to the Encyclopaedia Brittanica:-
About 2,000 BC, the
first stone circle (which is now the inner circle), comprised of small bluestones,
was set up, but abandoned before completion. The stones used in that first circle
are believed to be from the Preseli Mountains, located roughly 240 miles away,
at the southwestern tip of Wales. The bluestones weigh up to 4 tons each and
about 80 stones were used, in all. Given the distance they had to travel, this
presented quite a transportation problem.
Modern theories speculate that the stones were dragged by roller and sledge
from the inland mountains to the headwaters of Milford Haven. There they were
loaded onto rafts, barges or boats and sailed along the south coast of Wales,
then up the Rivers Avon and Frome to a point near present-day Frome in Somerset.
From this point, so the theory goes, the stones were hauled overland, again,
to a place near Warminster in Wiltshire, approximately 6 miles away. From there,
it's back into the pool for a slow float down the River Wylye to Salisbury,
then up the Salisbury Avon to West Amesbury, leaving only a short 2 mile drag
from West Amesbury to the Stonehenge site.
