CRYSTAL MASSAGE

Crystal massage can be a really beautiful and uplifting experience. It works on a deep esoteric level and not only does the physical body enjoy total relaxation but all the inner emotional stresses are brought skillfully to the surface of the mind - and dissipated.

For many years now I have been practising as a qualified massage therapist and also as a qualified tutor of massage. All my massage treatments have involved several different kinds of massage ranging from Swedish massage to intuitive massage and crystal massage.

And when I began using crystals in my healing work it seemed perfectly natural to me that I should also use crystals as an extension to my massage treatments.

There are many - and varied - ways of using crystals to enrich and enhance the massage experience.

Besides massage I also practice aromatherapy (the ancient art of using and blending essential oils in massage treatments). I often use quartz crystals to increase the 'potency' of the essential oil.

Having once chosen and blended the most suitable combination of oils for my client, I take my personal control quartz crystal and move the crystal around the perimeter of the bottle containing the oil in a clock-wise direction. This, strengthens the bio-magnetic field around the bottle. I then take the lid off the bottle and direct the crystalline energies directly on to the oil. The oil is then ready for use.......

In my own personal experience, and having monitored the results very carefully, I have found that I am able to give a much better therapeutic treatment - and the client responds a great deal more readily - as a result of using crystals in my aromatherapy sessions.

However, the pure idyllic delight in using a single-terminated quartz crystal, with unchipped or polished facets, directly upon the client's body, should never, at any time, be underestimated! Using a single-terminated quartz crystal, crystal massage may be divided up into two main categories:

1) Where a basic knowledge of the techniques of massage are essential.

2) Where it is not necessary to have any knowledge of massage.

In the first category I prepare a client in exactly the same fashion as if he or she were going to have an ordinary massage. I use my massage couch and the client begins the session by lying on their stomach so that I may start working on their back area.

I always use massage oils on the client first and their massage session follows my normal procedures using my own special intuitive massage techniques.

When I have completed their normal massage treatment I then pick up my personal quartz crystal and, very gently, massage their entire body by stroking the single-terminated end of the quartz crystal across their skin. I start with the feet, moving upwards very slowly, firmly and deliberately to the head and then back down the entire body again.

The secret of giving a very successful Crystal Massage lies in being able to control the quartz crystal so that it almost glides over the surface of the client's skin.

Before, however, you begin to use your quartz crystal on your client. it is very important that you first 'program' it with the thought that the crystal vibrations and energies are going to merge with that of your client.

I always mentally attune myself into the crystal by asking that the crystal energies are absorbed into the skin of the client and that their body be totally re-energized, re-harmonized and re-balanced wherever any 'imbalances' are to be found.

In the second category of crystal massage it is not, of course, necessary for you to have any basic knowledge at all. Instead of using oils and hand massage techniques you move straight on to using the quartz crystal. The effects can often be absolutely delightful for your client and will make them feel 'out of this world'.

As you progress and become more experienced in crystal massage you will become able to massage the client's body, mind and spirit at the same time.

Once you have learnt and mastered ordinary crystal massage techniques you can then move on to practicing more advanced crystal massage techniques.

For the more advanced crystal massage techniques I dispense with my massage couch altogether and use the floor. By working with the client on the floor you have a great deal more room in which to work and the floor affords you greater opportunities for using new forms of crystal configurations.

The client lies on his or her back in the middle of the floor. I then place between 12 - 30 large quartz crystals surrounding their body with all the single-terminated points facing inwards.

I try to place all the crystals at equidistant points around the client's body in a circular fashion and allowing me enough room in which I can massage the client whilst I am also inside the circle.

The energy field thus created is exceptionally strong and the energies from all the crystals surrounding the body combine to provide a unified magnetic energy field which is absorbed into every fibre of the client's being.

Working on a client who is lying within this energy field is a sheer joy as both the client and the the therapist are able to share in the wonderful relaxing vibrations that continue to emanate from the crystals whilst the treatment is progressing.

A deep therapeutic crystal massage will often lead to the inner release of emotional traumas and tensions; most of which the client was completely unaware were present!

Many massage therapists have never used quartz crystals in their massage treatments. In the future, however,  we should experience a gradual awakening of interest and a thirst for knowledge that will see more and more people being introduced into the exciting and beautiful world of Crystal Massage.
